Fisher Park was the city’s first suburb, with building starting in 1905. It mixes Craftsman bungalows, Queen Anne houses, Foursquares, and Colonial Revivals along the same street. Window openings vary widely inside a single house, and many still have original wood sash with true divided lights. Interior shutters suit those. The frame reads as part of the casing, and you are not hanging fabric across a window that was meant to be looked at.

Irving Park went up between 1911 and the 1930s in Tudor, Classical, and Colonial Revival styles, several houses by named architects. The Tudor houses in particular have tall, narrow, grouped windows with leaded glass. Those should not be covered with anything heavy.
