The Uptown Suburbs Historic District was listed in 2013 and covers sixty blocks and more than 330 acres, taking in Emerywood, Johnson Place, Roland Park, and Sheraton Hill. Those lots were platted between 1907 and 1946. The houses are Colonial Revival, Tudor, and Craftsman, with generous window openings and deep casing. That depth is useful. Rooms in these houses were often built around a furniture arrangement, and the windows were placed to suit it. The result is a lot of paired and grouped openings.
